Notion is a collaboration platform with modified Markdown support that integrates kanban boards, tasks, wikis, and databases. In June 2022, Notion acquired calendar software Cron to add to its suite of productivity apps. Notion also joined the Security First Initiative, a coalition of tech companies who pledged to share security information proactively with their customers. In 2022, Notion launched the Notion Certified Program, an official accreditation that allows users to expand their expertise. The investment valued Notion at $10 billion and the company had a total of 20 million users. In October of that year, a new round of funding led by Coatue Management and Sequoia Capital helped Notion raise $275 million. On September 7, 2021, Notion acquired a Hyderabad-based startup called Automate.io. Notion received $50 million in investments from Index Ventures and other investors in January 2020. In September of 2019, the company announced it had reached 1 million users and less than 7 months later In April 2020, Notion became a unicorn after being valued at two billion dollars.
